Electricity

Electricity is a wonderful resource that has been used for a very long time. Electricity has been around since the creation of our Universe. Even though it has been there for such a long time it has not always been used. Electricity is now used very often. Electricity saves lives every day. The world would be in ruin if there wasn't electricity.

Electricity has been around longer than humans have. Before people knew electricity existed Egyptians thought that electric eels were guardians of all the fish. They described the eels as "Thunder of the Nile". A millennia later reported sightings of the eels were found in Greece and Rome. Later, a special shock from catfish was used to cure disease. This was the first step in the discovery of electricity.

Electricity was later studied further by an English scientist named Benjamin Franklin. He tied a metal key to the end of a kite's string, and went out in a storm and was shocked by lightening. Later, another scientist invented the battery which was used in small devices that used electricity. Electricity has made mankind able to do more things faster and easier.

Electricity was later used for inventions such as the electric bell. Electricity was followed by the telegraph which was used during the Civil War. Later, came the phone which is used quite often now. After the phone came cell phones. The point is Electricity sparked ideas and ingenuity in scientists which could only mean invention. 

Electricity is used in almost all of the common household appliances that we see today. Electricity is even used for transportation and lighting. We depend mostly on electricity for entertainment and for easier work. If we didn't have electricity we would be a mess.
